Operating Your Alarm
How do I disarm my alarm system?
Please refer to your alarm user manual for reference.
Can the system be set when we are in for the evening?
Yes, arming your system in "STAY MODE" disarms the interior motion detector(s) for freedom of movement while keeping the perimeter armed.

Basic Troubleshooting
What happens when the alarm goes off?
A trained dispatcher will call your home to verify if you have set the alarm off inadvertently by yourself and will ask for your password. The monitoring station will go through the call list and try to reach a property reference for the premise.
What happens in the event of a power failure?
The system has a back-up battery housed in the control panel that will power the security system for several hours.

Do you pay more to have other devices monitored?
You pay the same monitoring fee regardless of what other devices are being monitored! Therefore it makes a lot of sense to have other devices installed, such as carbon monoxide and smoke detectors! This way you will maximize the value of your monitoring.
What is the advantage of having a monitored smoke detector?
Having a monitored smoke detector at your premise ensures that the fire department will be contacted if you have a fire emergency. A good photoelectric smoke detector will detect smoke particles caused by even a slow smoldering fire. If you are not at home, and do not have a monitoring service, odds are no one will hear your smoke alarm when you have a fire condition. Therefore it is important that someone monitor this device 24 hours a day! With this service, your smoke detector is continuously monitored through a 24 hour zone, even when your alarm system is not armed.
What if I have pets?
The latest design in motion sensors allows for pet movement while still providing protection. A pet immune motion sensor is specifically designed so that a pet under a certain size will not cause an alarm. This is achieved through state of the art technology located in the motion device.
